1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Dring app and website, operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“Dring”, “we”). By creating an account, you accept them, together with our privacy policy.
2. What Dring is — and isn't
- Dring is a platform that connects clients who need a repair with independent tradespeople (“pros”) nearby.
- Dring is not the contractor. We don't perform, supervise or guarantee the work, and pros are not our employees or agents. The contract for the work is made directly between the client and the pro.
- Dring is not an emergency service. If anyone is in danger, call 112 (Belgium, France) or 911 (Canada, United States).
- We don't guarantee that a pro will be available for every request.
3. Your account
- You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] years old and give accurate information.
- One account per person. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think your account has been misused.
4. For clients
- Posting a request is free. Describe the problem honestly and give a correct address.
- When a pro accepts, you can confirm or decline them. If you don't answer within 30 minutes, your request is offered to other pros.
- Give your PIN to the pro in person, on arrival only. Never send it by message.
- You can cancel your request at any time before the work starts.
- Agree on the price with the pro before the work starts. You pay the pro directly; Dring doesn't handle payment for the work.
5. For pros
- You act as an independent professional, in your own name and under your own responsibility.
- You are responsible for your qualifications, registrations, licences and permits, your insurance (including professional liability insurance where required), your taxes and social contributions, and for complying with consumer law (pricing information, quotes, cancellation rights where they apply).
- You set your own prices and are responsible for the quality and safety of your work.
- Only accept jobs you can do, and go when the client has confirmed you. Withdrawing after a client confirms you, or not showing up, lowers your reliability score and may lead to suspension.
- Use a client's details only for the job they confirmed you for.
6. Leads
- Leads are prepaid credits that let pros accept jobs. Packs and prices ([TAX/VAT TREATMENT]) are shown in the app before purchase. Payment is made by card through Stripe.
- Accepting a job uses the number of leads shown in the app at that moment: currently 1 for a residential job, 2 for a commercial or industrial job.
- Leads are refunded automatically, as leads, when the client cancels before the work starts, declines you, or doesn't confirm you within 30 minutes. They are not refunded when you withdraw from a job.
- Leads don't expire while your account is open. They have no cash value, can't be transferred, and are lost if you delete your account.
- Purchased leads are non-refundable in money, except where the law requires otherwise [LAWYER TO CHECK: withdrawal rights and exceptions].
- Free leads (starter leads, rewards) have no monetary value and their rules may change.
7. Ratings and reviews
After a job, clients rate pros and pros rate clients. Reviews must be honest, about a real job, and free of insults, personal data or discrimination. We may remove reviews that break these rules.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: post fake requests or accept jobs you don't intend to do; harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; commit fraud or abuse refunds; use another person's account or data; try to access data you're not allowed to see, disrupt the service, or copy it by automated means.
9. Suspension and closure
We may warn, suspend or close an account in case of abuse, fraud, repeated no-shows, safety concerns or breach of these terms. Where possible, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can delete your account at any time in the app (how).
10. Levels and rewards
Levels, XP, badges, challenges and leaderboards are there to recognise pros' work. They have no cash value, and we may change their rules.
11. Liability
As Dring is not a party to the contract for the work, we are not liable for the work done by pros, its price, delays, damage or injury caused by a user, or disputes between users. Our total liability towards you is limited to [LIABILITY CAP], to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Disputes between users
If something goes wrong with a job, first try to settle it directly with the other person. You can report it to [email protected]; we'll look into it and may act on accounts, but we are not a party to your agreement.
13. Intellectual property
The Dring app, name, logo and design belong to [COMPANY LEGAL NAME]. You keep the rights to what you post (descriptions, messages, reviews) and allow us to display it within the service for as long as needed to run it.
14. Changes
We may update the service and these terms. We'll tell you about important changes in the app or by email before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW]. Disputes go to the courts of [JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts there.
