Delete your account and data

You can delete your Dring account at any time, right in the app. Deletion is permanent and happens straight away.

This page covers the Dring app for Android and iOS, published by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME].

In the app

  1. Open Dring and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Check what will be erased, then tap Continue.
  5. Tick “I understand my account can't be recovered”, then tap Delete permanently. The button stays disabled until the box is ticked.

Got a job in progress? Finish or cancel it first: the app will tell you.

By email

Can't use the app? Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.

We may ask you to confirm the request, to make sure it's really you. We delete the account within [DEADLINE, max. 30 days] and confirm by email.

Want to delete only some data, such as a review or a conversation, and keep your account? Write to the same address.

What we delete

  • Your sign-in credentials, profile and contact details: name, email, phone number, language, push notification tokens.
  • For clients: your requests and everything attached to them (address and access details, conversation, PIN, and the ratings and comments you and the pro gave each other).
  • Every message you sent, in any conversation.
  • Your notifications and their delivery logs.
  • For pros: your professional profile and stats, last known location, job offers, reliability record, lead balance, lead history and in-app payment records.
  • Your level, XP, badges, challenges, rewards and leaderboard ranking.

What may be kept, and why

  • Payment records. Your lead balance and purchase history in the app are deleted. Stripe, our payment provider, keeps its own records of your payments, and we keep the invoices and accounting records tax law requires ([ACCOUNTING RETENTION PERIOD]).
  • Jobs in the client's history (if you were a pro). A job you accepted stays in the client's history, no longer linked to your account: your name, company and phone number no longer appear. The job record still holds the client's rating and review of you, your rating of the client, the client's own messages (yours are deleted) and the position recorded when you entered the PIN.
  • The pro's records (if you were a client). Your requests are deleted, but the pro's lead history and reliability record keep their entries (leads used or refunded, reliability points) with no link to your request. The pro's average rating and job count may still include your rating until they're next updated.
  • Notifications already received. Notifications the other person received stay in their account. They can show your first name and a preview of a message you sent, or, for a new-job alert sent to pros, your town and the description of your request.
  • Legal obligations and claims. Information we must keep by law, or to establish or defend a legal claim (for example after a fraud report), only for as long as needed.
  • Backups and logs. Removed as they're overwritten, within [BACKUP AND LOG RETENTION PERIOD].
  • Crash reports. If enabled, kept by Sentry for up to [SENTRY RETENTION PERIOD].
